The Technical Leadership Certificate Program builds the skills, knowledge, and attitudes you need to prepare for the next chapter in your career.


The Technical Leadership Certificate program, offered by the UW-Madison Department of Engineering Professional Development in cooperation with the Center for Professional and Executive Development, provides innovative management training for technical professionals transitioning into managerial and leadership roles.


The certificate curriculum calls for taking six face-to-face courses, chosen from a list of 11 courses, each lasting two or three days. The course selection enables you to tailor your curriculum to your individual needs.


The course content is constantly reviewed and updated to ensure that it meets the changing demands placed on leaders in today’s global economy.


Learn about capital budgeting, coaching and mentoring, intellectual property issues, managing technical teams, process improvement and more through your classroom experience.
