A team works on professional development.

Drive business innovation — and your path to leadership — with the 18-month, hybrid Executive MBA program from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.

Is this program right for you?

Redesigned in 2023, the UW–Madison Executive MBA program is for extremely motivated leaders with significant business experience.

The Wisconsin Executive MBA will grow you as a leader, empowering you to develop strategies to move your organization forward and giving you the tools to innovate as business evolves. Learn from globally recognized faculty and gain a solid academic foundation that will change the way you think about business.

Meet online once a week and in person once a month with a single cohort of professionals, combining expertise and knowledge. Your on-campus weekend will feature a mix of lectures and hands-on activities, including team-building exercises and opportunities to work collaboratively.

Two week-long residencies include programming on transformational leadership and executive-level communication as well as programming designed to expand your network and enhance your team skills. You’ll also dive deep into current business topics like sustainability, ethics, DEI and technology while establishing new professional and personal connections.

Our cohort model fosters a tight-knit experience and strong connections, creating a community of learners who are as invested in your success as you are in theirs. You will graduate with an invaluable network that will enrich and sustain you throughout your business career.

Program highlights

  • Classes meet virtually once a week and in person one weekend a month, allowing you to stay on top of your career and family life.

  • Build further expertise in a specific business area important to your career goals by completing two optional noncredit badges — free of charge — within five years of graduating.

How you'll learn

  • Online classes meet 6–9 p.m. central time on Wednesday evenings.
  • In-person classes meet one weekend per month: Saturday 8 a.m.–5 p.m. and Sunday 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m. central time.
  • Kick off your executive MBA with Immersion Week in August of your first year, where you’ll examine your strengths as a leader and develop executive skills.
